Safety Coordinator

We are looking for an experienced Safety Coordinator for our customer project with a solid background in industrial projects (energy, construction, oil & gas, etc.). In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring compliance with safety procedures, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting site operations.

You are a hands-on HSE professional who is proactive, structured, and organized. You don’t just develop procedures—you make sure they are implemented in the field. With a collaborative and communicative approach, you can easily work with different functions and stakeholders to move things forward. You enjoy being present on site: conducting inspections, leading safety rounds, and ensuring that everyone goes home safe at the end of the day.

📍 Location: Kainuu

📝 As a Safety Coordinator you will:

• Coordinate and support daily site safety practices, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies

• Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments on site

• Promote safe working habits and lead by example in all safety matters

• Participate in and arrange site inductions and safety training sessions

• Investigate incidents and support root cause analysis and corrective actions

• Maintain site documentation and reporting related to safety

🏆 To succeed you will:

• Have experience in supervising industrial demolition projects

• Be knowledgeable in HSE regulations and standards (e.g. EU legislation, ISO 45001, ISO 14001)

• Ability to prepare high-level safety plans

• Have experience in reviewing and approving plans

• Feel comfortable working on-site, supporting daily operations and maintaining HSE documentation and reporting

• Communicate clearly and collaborate confidently with diverse stakeholders, also when challenging unsafe behaviour

• Have strong on-site supervision and monitoring skills

• Balance compliance requirements with practical, real-life project needs

• Speak fluent English and Finnish, be based in Finland or Europe
