🔎 We are looking for:
We are looking for an Operative Purchaser to support our customer’s project organization by managing subcontracting and service procurement activities. In this role, you will work closely with technical experts and project teams, identifying suitable subcontractors, evaluating their capabilities, and managing the purchasing process from inquiry to delivery.
This position is well suited also for professionals with a Project Engineer background and commercial interest, who are motivated to move towards procurement responsibilities.
You will get to work in an international project environment, contributing to successful project execution while developing your expertise in procurement.
📍 Location: Vaasa, Finland (hybrid work model possible)
📝 As an Operative Purchaser, you will:
Identify and evaluate suitable subcontractors and service providers
Prepare and issue requests for quotation (RFQ) for services
Compare offers and support commercial evaluations
Negotiate with subcontractors together with the project team
Prepare and manage purchase orders and agreements for services
Follow up on subcontractor performance, delivery, and schedules
Collaborate closely with engineering and project management
Support invoice verification and documentation
🏆 To succeed, you have:
Minimum 3 years of experience in project purchasing, preferably in service or subcontracting procurement
Experience working in project-based environments (e.g. construction, energy, EPC, or similar)
Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into procurement actions
Commercial mindset and interest in negotiations and supplier management
Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented way of working
Good communication and collaboration skills
💡 Alternative background:
You may also have a background as a Project Engineer or similar, combined with a strong interest in commercial and procurement topics.
🌍 Languages:
Fluent in English and Finnish (written and spoken)
Swedish is considered an advantage
